Campers will be introduced to songs from all around the world through singing games. In the movement part
of the camp we will experience music through folk dances. Campers will also be offered the opportunity to
learn to play the recorder and acquire essential skills.

Fly like a tiger, soar like a crane!
Students will train in the Indonesian
martial
art of Poekoelan ( Pu-ku-lan), a
martial
art style based in self-
defense that promotes confidence, coordination, and fun. Poekoelan is a four animal style. Students will learn
monkey, tiger, snake, and crane techniques in a safe and supportive environment. Some basic gymnastics are
introduced, along with animal movements from our art and games that promote skill development. We will
practice real life self-defense skills including verbal and non-verbal skills.

French Language Immersion Camp
Bijoux, ornaments, boîtes… venez découvrir l’art du pliage et laissez vos doigts devenir de magnifiques
artisans.
Campers will create jewelry, ornaments, boxes, and other objects using basic origami techniques. Come and
discover the art of paper folding. And let your fingers do the work!

Campers will not be stuck with boring old, flat jigsaw puzzles. We will experiment with 3-D puzzles, puzzles
that are made of different materials, word puzzles, digital puzzles, and will play brain teasers. For the
adventurous, we will make our own puzzles.

For current and incoming Upper Elementary and JH students
Instructor: Nathalie Hites
Join us for a week of time spent outside, communing with nature! Time will be spent exploring the natural
spaces of the East Bay, from Dimond Park up into the Oakland Hills. Participants will have the opportunity to
hike, play games, reflect and learn about the nature that surrounds us.
Please dress appropriately for outdoor activities. Long pants are highly recommended. Athletic shoes are
required. Remember to bring a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat.
