also inviting and exciting for his
students.
Studio Naga has been offering
training in self-defense, forms, animal
movement, and meditation since 1984.
The method based on the martial art,
Poekoelan Tjimindie Tulen, offers
benefits in physical fitness, self-
defense, confidence, flexibility, mental
focus, and self-expression. It is known
for stressing leadership development
and peer support.
TeLing Chen is a Learning Specialist
serving the Elementary community
through one-on-one student support
and collaboration with Elementary
guides. TeLing comes to TRIS after
six years of teaching in private and
public schools in the Bay Area. She
received her B.A. in psychology, with
a minor in Chinese language, from
Occidental College. She holds a
Master's in Education, with a
certificate in Educational Therapy
from Holy Names University. She
previously worked at TRIS and is glad
to be part of the community again.
Wellington Franklin Pontes Filho is
from Fortaleza, Brazil. Wellington
received a degree in Business
Administration and a degree in
Education with an emphasis on Math
from the Universidade Estadual do
Ceara. He also has a degree in Special
Education specializing in the hearing
impaired from the Universidade
Estadual Vale do Acarau in Brazil.
Wellington taught elementary
through high school students for five
years before coming to the U.S. Since
arriving, Wellington has completed
both his primary and elementary
Montessori training. This is
Wellington’s eleventh year at TRIS.
