Nathalie Hites has a Bachelor’s of Science, with an emphasis in Zoology, and a Master’s of Science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in Belgium. She returned to the Bay Area in the fall of 2005, after 10 years abroad, and joined the TRIS Elementary team in the spring of 2006. In 2009, Nathalie completed her AMI Elementary Montessori Training in Minnesota and opened an Upper Elementary classroom at TRIS. Then, in 2013, she completed the AMI Montessori Orientation to Adolescent Studies in Ohio, and opened the Junior High at TRIS. She is currently teaching in the Junior High and working as Interim Program Coordinator for the Elementary and Junior High. Nathalie enjoys any activity which takes her into nature and spending time with her four children, all of whom attend TRIS.
Barbara Roether completed a MFA followed by a Fellowship in Creative Writing from Bard College. Barbara has also completed the Montessori Orientation to Adolescents; is a Montessori Model United Nations facilitator and an International Baccalaureate trained teacher. Barbara is joining Nathalie Hites in working with the Jr. High and Upper Elementary students in the Montessori Model United Nations program and in working with students working on their Personal Projects in English. Barbara will also be contributing to the English language and literature component of our program working with UE & Jr. High students. Barbara is a writer and has taught for twelve years, including nine years in Montessori schools. She will be at school two days a week. She joined TRIS in 2016.
